(Coakley, 1998) In the book, Meggyesy provided examples of each of these categories which occurred during his football career. These examples will be presented in the following paragraphs. As previously mentioned, one category that conflict theorists study is how athletes become alienated from their own bodies. Such studies examine whether sports lead athletes to define and experience their bodies as machines designed to produce entertainment and profits for others rather than feelings of pleasure for themselves. (Coakley, 1998) Meggyesy described this phenomenon when he said: I also realized, paradoxically, how cut off and removed I was from my body. I knew my body more thoroughly than most men are ever able to, but I had used it and thought of it as a machine, a thing that had to be well-oiled, well-fed, and well-taken-care of, to do a specific job. (Meggyesy, 1970, p. 231) Unfortunately, maintaining this machine often meant that athletes would use drugs such as amphetamines, barbiturates, steroids, or cortisone injections not for the purpose of treatment and cure, but for the purpose of stimulating the mind and body in order to perform more violently as a professional. Data was collected with the help of qualitative and quantitative research and after discussions on a variety of approach for data collection in the methods used. The main ideas of the research is based on collecting data about the current practices for Quality and Project management in Indian telecoms and with the help of proper methodology suitable solutions can be obtained. However, the process of gathering such vital information is quite crucial. The research began with the questionnaire or survey and obtains the information about the current situation that involves lack of quality and project management practices along with improper standards and tools. Later, research is followed by the qualitative analysis by taking interviews that uses more of interpretive approach that validates the claims with potential outcomes. Questionnaires Primary research was conducted with the help of survey that was been distributed among the employees of different organisations in the Indian telecom domain. Permission was received from the higher management team to contact the employees via emails after ensuring that the employees identity will not be disclosed and the data collected would not be changed and used in an unethical manner. The survey helped in gathering some vital information that involves unbiased opinion from employee about the subject. Thus it would be the best way to get such effective results (Remenyi et al, 1998). Questionnaire Design Researcher had ensured that the questions asked in the questionnaire were related and focused on the subject of quality and project management practices in Indian telecom. Moreover, all the necessary processes were taken into consideration while designing the questionnaire in order to ensure that questions are open ended and close ended, so that the respondents can not only answer the questions but can also put forward their opinion about the subject. Likewise it also focuses on language, sequencing, sections and not too many questions that eventually would make them loose interest in the subject (Ticehurst, 1999). Interviews A common technique for conducting the interviews was adopted by collecting the good sample from the people on the various factors like demographics. Likewise, the interview conducted were semi structured. The idea behind this interview was to understand clearly and in depth the current working quality and project management practices. Moreover, open ended questions were also been asked to get their views about the topic and how to resolve this current issues. This would eventually help the researcher the key issues and the remedies to solve them. In addition to it the questions asked are based on holistic view in order to gain overall understanding and the attitudes of the interviewees (Project manager and Team leaders) towards quality and project management in the respective organisation. Interview Design Semi structured interviews were conducted. The interviewees were selected based on the tenure, designation and few targeted people (Project managers, Team leads, and Quality heads) (Wright (2001). According to Fisher, 2007 interview is said to be one of the most important tool for the research as it has lots of benefits i.e.: it gives chance to the researcher to clear his opinions related to the subject get the clarification in certain areas and even help to get new ideas to resolved issues finally overall provides a clear picture related to the subject, that is not possible with the survey alone. Likewise, if answers to the particular questions are not specific it helps the interviewees to elaborate on it comfortably without hesitation by assuring him/her identity would not be disclosed and data would kept confidential. This develops more confidence in the interviewees and motivates them to revel the real fact about the current quality and project management practices and there dr awbacks. This eventually benefits the researcher. Before conducting the semi structured interview techniques were obtained from the interview guide book called Researching Business and Management By Harvey Maylor in order to cover the entire subject related topics and also the method of conducting the interviews without and shortcoming, failures and particular type of questions that would create misunderstanding and would potentially affect rest of the interviews and would lead to inadequate results (Knight, 2002). Secondary data Collection To facilitate more knowledge about the research subject the researcher needs to go through various secondary data is also important. The secondary data involves the research conducted by other researchers that are available in the form of books, journals, reports, articles or any previous studies such type of data would help researcher to gain more knowledge and to have better understanding towards the subject(Remenyi et al 1998). Secondary data was collected as the part of information as it saves time and the certain are of the subject is already been researched. Previous researches based on quality and project management in Indian telecom were also analysed. This eventually helped gain more knowledge from the previous studies and thesis done by other researchers. Limitations of research There were very few limitations encountered during the process of collecting valuable information for research. Maximum response for questionnaires were obtained and also the interviews were carried out efficiently considering the factor of deadline for the research and even properly schedule the interviewees and respondents in the respected timeline. It was more important to get appointment prior before and need to make sure not to disturb busy schedule of the interviewees. Conclusion In this chapter our methodology shows that there are many ways of collecting, accessing and analysing data. Having researched studied various types of the methods, it was concluded that best approach for the collection of the data was triangulation method that would lead to feasible results for the research. The main reason for this approach is because this method combines the information collected from both the techniques such as quantitative and qualitative research which eventually proves to be more consistent and impartial as information is been gathered from various sources.
